This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated General Operative with the ability to complete basic maintenance tasks. A full UK driving licence is an essential requirement for the role. 

You will support delivery of repairs & maintenance works to the society’s property portfolio to ensure our homes and neighbourhoods are always safe & secure.

Role Requirements:

  • Ability to apply a range of basic maintenance skills, such as but not limited to; fencing repairs, loft insulation works, fascia/soffit works, gutter cleans and repairs, silicone works and other repair remedial works.
  • Able to efficiently plan and manage working time & resources.
  • Able to solve problems using own initiative.
  • Adaptable and able to embrace change.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

What are we looking for from our General Operative?

Essential

  • Experience of working within a repairs and maintenance service.
  • Good all-round knowledge of domestic property repairs & maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of H&S legislation within the repairs and maintenance sector.
  • Previous experience of completing digitally or manually data and events using an electronic device including taking & sharing photos and documentation.
  • Ability to identify risks and be able to react to these quickly and appropriately.
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations effectively.

Good to have

  • Previous experience of working with a repairs work Planning Team and undertaking a variable workload, with competing demands, using digital devices.
